Jack (John)'s Story

My Houston family ancestors came to the Sacramento Valley from Maine, settling in the area known as Mormon Island during the mid 1800's. I was born in Sacramento, CA the year of 1942. My entire childhood and a significant part of my adult life occurred in and around Sacramento. In 2002, after retiring from a long career in governmental accounting and finance, I moved to Northern California with my loving wife Linda. e a deep regard for life in all forms. In my 40's I discovered that through photography one could record at least visually, moments and places of beauty. I've engaged in this activity of recording moments and places occasionally for nearly three decades, first working with filmed images and more recently and somewhat reluctantly morphing into the realm of digital imagery. As I age the aspects of life that are alive seem to attract most of my energy and attention. For example, in my youth, I was not inclined to dance at all. Now, at the age of 74 I enjoy cha cha, night-club two-step, country two-step and learning new dance moves.
